Thank you for the support!
Shakkoi went to the University of Toronto where she studied sociology, media and African studies. Since then she has combined her education, life experiences and passion for poetry to become Need Some Koi.
​
Shakkoi is an art practitioner. As a three time author, she excels in spoken word poetry performance, facilitation and dance instruction.
Through her art she inspires audience members and participants to 'Release their doubts & step out!' She advocates for safe programs that support positive mental health practises, anti-hate initiatives and spaces to decrease community violence.

Shakkoi's unique, raw and powerful presence encourages many to "Release their Doubts & Step Out!". With plenty of experiences to share, there is no doubt that everyone needs some Koi in their lives!
